Apply differences by default with fish

Previously, when changing a file accessed over fish, saving it would push the changes to the server immediately. Now all of a sudden those changes are only pushed to the server when confirming this at the end of the editing session, e.g. with kate.
Is there a way to change this behaviour back to how it was?

RE: Apply differences by default with fish

Works as expected on my installation of KDE 3.5.1 on Ubuntu. Does it also happen when you use a different KDE editor, like kedit?
