[kopete] trouble with yahoo webcam

I am using kopete .11 off of svn with the yahoo patch. I can start my webcam and everything looks fine to me, I can see myself fine. But whenever someone tries to view, all they see is a black square.

Any ideas? I'm going crazy trying to get a webcam working for yahoo

RE: [kopete] trouble with yahoo webcam

what patch are you using? Kopete doesn't have support for webcam sending until 0.12. If you want webcam sending, i would suggest downloading the 0.12 alpha release at http://kopete.kde.org and giving that a try.

hm I followed the instructions found at http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page=Kopete+Yahoo

Does .12 depend on kde-base 3.5 like I think it does?

that page is out of date, since the yahoo_rewrite was merged into 0.12 and webcam sending wasn't added until after the merge. Kopete 0.12 should compile and run on KDE 3.4 and KDE 3.5, eventually, it might compile and run on KDE 3.3, but capabilities on KDE 3.3 will be limited. Please let us know at bugs.kde.org if there is a problem compiling Kopete 0.12 on KDE 3.4. You find the 0.12 alpha 1 release at http://kopete.kde.org/releases.php

Well I run Gentoo, and I found the .12 alpha masked in portage. I unmasked it and compiled it with kde 3.4, no problems there. But whenever I tried to either log into AIM, or open an IM window on Yahoo or MSN, kopete would crash. I guess I'll try again when it's more stable.
