Update desktop components

I am trying to install kdelibs-devel from the KDE 3.5.1 pack, but it is telling me that I need to update the desktop components first. What does that mean? I already installed the other packages from KDE 3.5.1.

RE: Update desktop components

You only need kdelibs-devel if you are going to compile (or create from scratch) KDE or a program that uses KDE libs. If you already have KDE installed and running, then you do not need the kdelibs-devel files. By the way, what operating system are you using, and what version of that operating system (for example Debian Linux, version unstable).

RE: Update desktop components

Thank you for your reply. I needed to upgrade this as I installed KDE 3.5.1 and it wanted me to do it. But as version 3.5.1 has bugs, I downgraded it back to 3.4 and now I am happy. I am using SuSE 10.0, stable.

Kind regards
