Konquorer problem

I somehow managed to mess up the konquorer file manager function. If I try to navigate using the navigation arrows or the home button, it tries to display kview. Even if I remove kview, it is still looking for it and won't go anywhere. How do I fix this or how do I uninstall konquorer and reinstall it so that it works properly.

Thanks
krj

RE: Konquorer problem

I think you're settings are screwed. Re-installing probably won't help.

Check your File Associations in the Konqueror Settings. Then, in the tree at the left, open inode and then directory. In any of the two tabs, does it show KView? If so, remove that entry.
Make sure that in the last tab you've selected the option to use the inode settings and that dirs are opened in Konqueror's Icon View.

btw all settings for all apps are in home/user/.kde/share/config - you might try to rename the konqueror settings, for example to konquerorrc.bak - that way, konqi will regenerate its configuration. but as bram said, its very likely you're mime settings are broken somewhere, dunno what config file that would be...

reinstalling is generally useless under linux, as problems can only be in your settings (unless your disk crashed).
