kopete emoticons

Hi,
when I send an emoticon to a frined who is running msn messenger he doesn't' see it.

Is it a problem between the two programs or did I forgot to set up something in my kopete??
many thanks

RE: kopete emoticons

What does your friend see? Just the tokens which form a emoticon or an 'empty' image?

Something in me tells me it's a problem at your friend's side. But I'm not quite sure.

might depend on kopete version - microsoft now and then changes the msn protocol to make it harder for non-official msn clients to connect to their network.

RE: kopete emoticons

if you're attempting to use a custom emoticon, Kopete doesn't support sending those via MSN yet, only receiving them, which would be why he doesn't see it. Support for sending has already been requested, but there's no timeline for it to be implemented in
