KDE/Kubuntu Menu & Status Bar

How can I tell what is executed when I click on a button in the status bar? I can do a debugjava in a terminal for Opera and it will open and run Java perfectly. When I open Opera useing a button in the status bar or the menu Java will not work. I have explored all I can in Opera and wonder if it is a KE problem. It opens correctly with.

opera --debugplugin --debugjava &
opera will stay open and run Java. When I shut it down and reopen from the menu or status bar button it is back where it was before. Is there a way to set the script used in the terminal to work with the menu to open the application? Or do I have to go to a terminal to open opera every time?
