[kopete] A problem with tabs gaining focus.

I'm running gentoo kde 3.5 and kopete 0.11.0.

I would like to start by saying that I'm a recent kde convert so I'm relatively a newbie to kde which, is very usable and beautiful compared to my days of old in gtk/gnome, but I digress.

When I am chatting with one or more people in a single tabbed window and someone initiates a new chat with me, the new tab that gets created instantly gets focus. So if I'm typing to one person, all of a sudden I'm typing to another person.

Is there a setting to change this behavior? I have tried everything I can find but have so-far had no such luck.
