KInternet - Wireless issue

Hi,

what does Kinternet exactly do with the wireless network when I choose the Network(SSID) from the list and click 'connect'?
My problem is, my Wireless network doesn't work after a boot without selecting&connecting to it in Kinternet eventho it is selected in yast.
I'm using suse 9.3.
