Panel Configuration

I was trying to put a picture that I took on the desktop. I opened configure panel and went to "appearance".. Thinking this was desktop I inserted the path to the picture . Now I have the picture across both panels at the bottom and cannot read the panel icons. I did not note the path to the original .png file that I replaced. Can you please tell me how to undo this goofup. Thanks.
