[solved] everything just keeps getting bigger

hi, all writing and all icons get larger with every startup.

I know there's something wrong with my K 'cause (among other things) startkde isn't doing what it should do. (see also can't contact kdeinit )

all I did was try to update ubuntu (most of which seems to have worked)

I suppose this is pretty urgent because I want some space left to view websites, files and so on. I'd like to install k3.5 properly (now this is just weird: my control centre is now named system settings and operates completely differently from before, but all abouts say I'm still in ver 3.4.3.)
however, I haven't managed to find a howto-install (upgrade) 3.5 and efforts on downloading konstruct result in a file sized 0 byte (but wiith the correct name)

edit 1620UTC, same day
alrights guys, the main issue's solved. not the upgrading though.
Gravity sucks!
