KDE printing manager

Running MDk 10.2 using KDE 3.3.2.

How do I change permissions in KDE configuration to have access to some functions in KDE Print manager? I am able to operate as user in Mandrake control center but in KDE PM I must enter 'root' and root password to get many things done.

Thanks

RE: KDE printing manager

As far as I know, you cannot 'unlock' these features for normal users. A root login is required for those options.

yes it's the way it's supposed to work, some distros provide a lpadmin group though, users belonging to this group should be allowed to set up printers and the like, unless i'm not mistaken
