Upgraded to 3.5....splash screen still shows 3.4

Using the instructions at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/…ad.php?t=392637 , I removed KDE and reinstalled the latest version. Everything went great. However, upon being presented with the login screen, all I saw was a login box and an ugly screen. Logged in and splash screen said 3.4 instead of 3.5...weird. Searched and fixed my login problem (KDM wasn't installed). However, the splash screen is still showing 3.4 How do I get this fixed?
