Open konqueror and change the location to /home/<my_user>/.kde/Autostart
Rightclick somewhere in the empty space and choose Create New -> Link to application from the menu.
There you choose your executable (in the Application tab), choose the working directory, etc.
Check out if everything works ok by doubleclicking the newly created link ;)

At next startup of kde, your app will be launched automatically.

A bit nitpicking since the problem has already been solved, but with the menu option Go To -> Autostart brings you to the desired autostart folder.

The menu option "Go to" seems not to be implemented on every distro - at least in my Gentoo I don't have it :)

Strange, I have Gentoo too :)

But I translate the captions back to English (from Dutch), so there's a reasonable chance that I give "almost correct" captions.

Hehe... I translate them back from french - probably we've got it both, but it's called differently.
I'll have a look one of this days in an english profile ;)
