Kontact: KDE 3.4.2 - Silent Exit (Almost)

Hi

I am using Mandriva 2006 (official) and not Cooker, hence KDE 3.4.2.

Kontact just started doing this session the equivalent of a silent exit on me.
But it appears to be still running!

1. Start KDE. Kontact appears to be not running (according to KSysguard)
2. Start Kontact and it begins to load in the status bar
3. Kontact then does the equivalent of a silent exit on me (no windows opening, etc)
4. Checking the process manager (KSysguard) it shows two instances of Kontact running
5. Delete both instances of Kontact
6. Try steps 2 - 4 above, same problem.

I also tried running Kmail as above and had the same problem.
KOrganiser worked and appears to be ok.
So the problem appears to be Kmail related?

No software changes have been made today or anything else obvious.
Do I need to reset Kontact somehow?

Can anyone help.
Its most frustrating having to use Webmail (particularly when running two email accounts) ?(

Thanks in advance

Andy
