[kopete] repopulate buddy list
I 'accidently' deleted my buddy list in kopete. Is there a way to repopulate my AIM buddy list? I've tried deleting the account in kopete, restarting, and adding the account again. Didn't work. Any suggestions would be great.

When you say you deleted your buddy list, how did you actually do this?
Removing or renaming `kde-config --localprefix`/share/apps/kopete/contactlist.xml will cause all of your buddy lists for all accounts to be redownloaded from the server. It's entirely possible your deletion was synced to the server though, and in this case you'll have to manually readd those buddies.

I found out it was synced with the server. So all my buddy list entries had to be re-added manually. It sucks that it was so easy to delete them completely. Its been awhile so I am not even sure how I did it.

there's no way to repopulate your buddy list unless you have a backup of your contactlist.xml that has your AIM buddies in it. If you have a backup, you could move your current contactlist.xml in .kde/share/apps/kopete to new location and copy the backup back into .kde/share/apps/kopete
After you restore your backup, then Kopete will prompt you to add back contacts that are missing from your server side contact list.
This only applies to 0.11 or later.
