Konsole - multiple shells on keyboard shortcut

I just upgraded to the latest Debian Unstable with KDE 3.4.2 and I'm having a wierd problem with Konsole. Whenever I use the keyboard shortcut - Ctrl+Alt+N or Ctrl+Shift+N it opens two shells instead of one. If I use the button on the tab toolbar it works normally and opens just one shell. I tried changing the shortcut but the problem stayed.
Do you have any idea what might be causing that and how could I fix it?
