Calendar/Clock setting

I am New to KDE.

After installing it I needed to adjust the clock. After setting the Time Zone and then the time I hit "Apply" and instead of 8:56 am it showed 20:56 pm.

So I tried to correct this and it appeared to work the second time. But, when the clock changed from 8 am to 9 am the time was changed to 13:01 pm.

After two more attempts I gave up. Why won't this desktop application allow me to have 9:05 am EDT as the time? Why does it keep resetting my system clock to 13:05 pm? ?

Thanks

most probebly you need to set your timezone

most probebly your /etc/localtime is not the correct file for your zone and you have a time server update configured.
you need to copy the correct file from /usr/share/zoneinfo/ instead of localtime.
just do cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/your-real-time-zone /etc/localtime
and see if this works.

RE: most probebly you need to set your timezone

Thanks for the solution.

But, I had other problems trying to use KDE and ended up just removing it.

KDE acted like it was the only application running and refused to even see Samba or the network.

Plus, every word I searched on in the Help function kept coming back with "Topic not found." It couldn't find "clock, time, network, display or monitor" in the KDE Manual.
