Gnome hijacks my KDE

This is very strange...

When I deselect the "Show icons on desktop" option in the Bahaviour section of the Desktop section in the KDE Control centre a wierd thing happens.

My KDE background and icons disappear and are replace by my gnome icons and background.

I am using Fedora Core 4 with KDE 3.4

Anyone got any ideas ?????

RE: Gnome hijacks my KDE

This probably wont help ut I have the "same" type of effect on Mandrake 10.1 using kDE 3.2.
Although my KDE desktop is stable during use, when I close down the computer there is a flicker of the Gnome desktop as the Kde desktop disapears, which would suggest that the Gnome desktop is loaded "under" the KDE ?

Why I dont know !
