Run Menu

I have KDE 3.3.2 running on Knoppix (from hard drive). The "standard" splash screen has started getting signals, so I switched to another and that stopped. The "Run Command..." menu option no longer works. It looks like something happens but it is real fast so I cannot be sure. Is there a configuration setting that controls the "Run Command..." menu? I have been using this menu selection to start tkseti.
