Adding new item to "create new" desktop menu

The board is seriously broken :(

When I tried to delete one of my double postings it instead deleted this posting from ufechner

how can I add a "create new" item to the desktop context menu?

I want to be able to say "create new -> "openoffice writer" file".

I use kde 3.4 on gentoo linux with openoffice ximian (kde look).

The mime type is already registered.

Any help appreciated.
