Activating User List on Themed KDM

Hi all,

On SuSE 9.3, trying to get the userlist to show up in KDM. Running KDE 3.4 and installed kdmtheme-0.9.1. I've tried numerous themes from kde-look, without success. Yes, I've gone to the Control Panel -> Login Manager -> Users and verified that show list is checked and that users are selected in the list, but still no go.

I suspect the whole of the Login Manager admin is useless as long as a KDM theme is in use. If this is the case, are there themes out there that have a user list? Perhaps I need to make my own. Any good documentation on creating a theme with a user list?

Hi Jjolly

Did you get the user list displayed? I'm now trying to do the same thing and am banging my head against walls :( Is themed kdm complete yet? I wasn't able to find that out either.

Cheers,

Nope, no love yet. I've stopped playing with it for now, as my boss (aka The Wife) decided the higher priority was video capture. Ease-of-use will have to be delt with another day.

For me the problem still was the "HiddenUsers" - everything was selected correctly in KCM, but still no users where displayed. After manually removing the HiddenUsers from my kdmrc and manually readding the users to hide, the list was displayed..
But still it has a white background, which pretty much sucks.. ;)

Hope this helps,
stimpy
