KDE 3.4.2 / Suse 9.1

I've been trying for 4 days to upgrade my version of KDE from 3.2 to 3.4.2. Unsuccessfully in every attempt. Konstruct fails half way thru, not being able to find/open/download files. The step by step source compiles fail every time by needing other requirements first, then their requirements needing more requirements and so on and so on... Is there such a thing as a COMPLETE installation of kde that is downloadable and will work?

VERY Frustrated. I would think since i have 3.2 installed along with the factory cd, the next version should be able to find the necessary files as well.. but i guess i'm wrong.

Can someone point me in a good direction before i go back to XP?

thanks
