Konqueror not accessing links properly?

if I click on a link in an email for example, onqeror opens up the following location:

/var/tmp/kdecache-gordon/krun/7701.0.viewtopic.php

If I copy the link and paste it in an already open instance of Konqueror, it opens the web page as normal. What's happened and how do i correct this?

(Kubuntu 5.04)
