Can I set a minimum double-click interval?

I just replaced my troublesome IBM mouse with a plain vanilla logitech 3 button optical USB wheel mouse. But there's so much bounce in the left button that single clicks are often inadvertent double clicks. This only happens in linux (I hate saying that.) I know I can set the maximum time allowed between clicks ("double click interval" in the KDE setup menus) but is there a way to set the minimum time between clicks so I can debounce this thing?
Thanks.
