Exec command on HAL-events

I'm just curious...

Is there a way to tell the kde-base to execute a command on HAL-events if compiled with support for it? Would be greate if using the application "Kay" or whatever app or macro/script You like...

As far as I know only the media IO slave has optional support for HAL and no other program in kdebase.

But maybe HAL has utility programs that can do that.
