changing icons in kontact

I would like to make the icons in the Kontact side pane smaller or different. I can't figure out how to do that. Any suggestions.

Also, is there any way to get rid of that round guy with a tie that appears at the top of every address. Any thoughts.

thanks

The icons are very likely loaded from the standard KDE icon directories or the Kontact application data directory.

See
kde-config --path icon
and
kde-config --path data
for list of applicable directories.

The appearance of the contacts could be a stylesheet or HTML template, also somewhere in Kontact's or KAddressBook's directory
