[Kopete] 0.10 and MSN display pictures

I have been using Gaim for some time now, but recently decided to give Kopete a try again after I upgraded to KDE 3.4.0 (hoping that it would be better than the last time I tried it - I really dislike having gtk2 in memory just because of Gaim).

Looks nice so far, but there is a problem with MSN display pictures. Basically, Kopete didn't download any MSN display pictures the first time I logged into my account. Then, after some minutes, a few display pictures started appearing in my contact list. However, most of my contacts' display pictures are not downloaded. Gaim does not have this problem (all display pictures are downloaded correctly).

I suspect that this is an issue with the new Windows Messenger client (7.0). I might be wrong, but I think that the persons that Kopete (eventually) downloaded display pictures from use either Gaim or an older version of the Windows Messenger.

Has anyone else experienced similar behaviour, or might something be wrong with my setup/installation?

The display picture support i Kopete has never seemed very complete to me. For example, Gaim has never been able to download display pictures exported by Kopete (ok, this _might_ be a Gaim issue). But I am glad to see that Kopete is improving in other ways.

RE: [Kopete] 0.10 and MSN display pictures

Ok, it turns out that Kopete 0.10.0 downloads buddy icons only when a conversation is opened. Fair enough. But an option has been added in the CVS version do automatically download buddy icons at login. I compiled 0.10.90 from CVS earlier today, and it has been working very well so far. Glad to see that Kopete is improving with each release.
