Settings Not Surviving Login

Good Day All . . .

I have a problem that you can hopefully solve.

Recently I loaded KlamAv onto my SUSE 9.2 Pro and KDE 3.3.0. Unfortunately the config settings and the app would not automatically reload after login. I did not solve this issue. I could not find anyone who wanted ownership.

More recently I wrote a new PIM for myself so I stopped KOrganizer 3.3 from automatically starting after login. Unfortunately, it keeps reappearing at login.

This is the complete opposite of my first problem but they are related. The config file(?) that keeps the restart after login information is not updating.

Can someone point me to the area or file that I can start my problem solving.

Thank You.

Applications can be started at login if they appear in the autostart folder of either the global configuration or the user's configuration, or when they have been running when the desktop session was saved.

If, for example, you had KOrganizer running while you saved your session, it will be restarted by the session manager whenever it restores that session.

Good Day. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately . . .

My problem is that what you suggested is not happening. My settings and auto start are not working.

I can put the app in the AutoStart folder but the configuration is not started. In KlamAV, the app starts from the AutoStart folder but I must reconfigure the settings.

KOrganizer is not in the AutoStart folder but it refuses to quit.

The session manager config file(?) must be screwed up. It will neither accept additions nor will it accept deletions. Possibly a permission problem? Maybe?

Do you or does anyone know where the session manager config file resides?

Thanks.

Sounds like the application can't read its config file.
Maybe it is not readable or the application has a bug.

Just try to save a new session.

Session manager settings are in Control Center->KDE components->session manager
Choose option "start with empty session" and restart once.
