KDE Configuration for Linspire five-0

I am a relative newbe when it comes to Linux. I have what is probably a very basic question. I am running Linspire five-0 and would like to know a couple of things. How in the world do I change the UGLY Linspire Launch button back to the KDE default icon? The folks at Linspire support are extremely slow in getting back to me on how to change this. Also, How do I add active desktop content? I have seen things like drive stats and temps embedded in some sample desktops I've seen and I would like to know how this is done. I appreciate any and all advice and help anyone may be willing and able to lend.

THanks

Not sure about the "launch" button (probably a hack on their part), but the "active" desktop content is provided by gdesklets or superkaramba. I don't know which of the two Linspire uses, as it's not my distro of choice.
