mimetype for dot files

Hi

How can I define a MimeType for all the dot files (including directories) ?
A simple dotfiles.desktop file with a pattern like .* doesn't work for directories
How kde find mimetypes that don't have a specific extension or magic number ?

I guess directories don't work because they are based on a different base type: inode/directory
