make Konqueror default browser

I'm new to Linux and loving it! I am using Konqueror, but when I click on Internet Shortcut links in my e-mail (Evolution), it opens Firefox. Is there a way to get it to open Konqueror. I have looked at the file associations for html and xml and removed Firefox from there, but still get the same result.

Thanks.

You need to look at evolution settings to see if you can change default browser, which evolution uses. I can't help you here, hence I'm using opera.

Since Evolution is a GTK application I'm not sure if the KDE-wide settings apply. But you could try KControl.
Either hit Alt+F2 and type kcontrol,
or go to the K menu > Control Center ("System Settings" in Kubuntu) > KDE Components > Component Chooser ("Default Components" in Kubuntu)

Choose Web Browser and then "open http URLs in apps based on the contents of URL".

That should do it for KDE apps. If it doesn't apply to Evolution, you need to ask in the Evolution forums or some other GTK/GNOME related forum.

Good luck!

You're probably searching for Gnome Control Center. If you start it from the command line or from the "Run command" dialog, the name of the binary is gnome-control-center. You should search for an entry name something like Preferred programs. I'm retranslating back from Swedish to English so I don't know the exact wording. There you can select preferred mail reader and web browser.
