Hello,

[code:1]checking how to run the C preprocessor... gcc -E

could be that you don't have C++ part of GCC installed.
Check if g++ is installed, if not try installing it.

Real Newbie here, could you give me specific instructions on exactlly what to type? I am using Mandrake 10. Again, I really don't have much Linux experience.

Thanks for the help.

login as root, and run `rpmdrake`. This is the application used to install packages which come on the mandrake cd/dvds. When the application opens, in the search bar type 'gcc'. If you are not worried about disk space (it shouldnt be much anyway), install all of the packages which are listed, as this should cover you for any problems you may have in the future with gcc compilations.

That should sort out your problems. Any more issues, just give us a shout back here at kde-forum!

hth,
Seb

Does anyone know why superkaramba themes stay on top of all the other application in Mandrake 10? It didn'th appen in 9.2 and I don't want to manually set every other application to stay on top themselves over the themes.
