kde menu transparent?

hello all, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make my menu transpaent. i'm using kde 3. thanks

You will need the Keramik-Theme... This theme will maybe delivered with your distro ( Mandrake does) or take a look at http://themes.kde.org

Well there are also other themes you can use like liquid, plastik etc etc.
You can change this in the kontrollcenter->Design-> Style->Effects (the names may differ a litte, because I'm not using englisch)

I'm not sure. But in this menu entry you can change the transparency for every theme. I think it doesn't depend on the theme but on the KDE version...
Expect the worst, it's the least you can do.

thanks alot. what about making the panel transparent. does anyone know how to do that? (whell i know someone does because i've seen them transparent

This is possible in current CVS HEAD (upcoming 3.2), not in KDE_3_1_BRANCH.
