custom desktop menus, how to customize "Custom menu 1&q

I'm running KDE 3.0 on Solaris (sparc), and I'm trying to customize the desktop menus. "Configure desktop" or the control center desktop branch has a "clicks on the desktop" area where you can change the action on each mouse button. In the list of options are "Custom Menu 1" and "Custom Menu 2". Setting to these gives me "Konsole" on menu1 and xterm on menu 2, how do I add things to those menus??? Note: I checked the historical postings and one of them discusses a similar topic. The answer indicated that there should be an "edit" option next to the pull-down to choose the menu for each mouse click. The solaris version doesn't have this....Being a UNIX hacker, I'm happy to edit the file that creates the custom menus by hand in vi if only I could find it, anyone have any ideas?

SuSE 8.0 is the same way

I would like to know too, SuSE 8.0 doesn't seem to have an edit button either.

Change $KDEDIR/share/config/kdesktop_custom_menu1 or create $KDEHOME/share/config/kdesktop_custom_menu1. And KDE 3.1 there is a graphical editor for this in the control center.

Thanks, this works great...I have one more question. I seem to be able to add single commands like "xterm", but when the command take parameters like "xterm -e rlogin remhost -l otheruser" the entry gets ignored, even if I surround it in quotes, anyone have any docs on the syntax of these menu entries?
