Problem compiling kdebase-3.2.1

Hi...
I've installed Fedora with just X (and all dev stuff). I want to build KDE myself. I've compiled and successfully installed ARTS and KDELIBS, but during the "make" of KDEBASE I get an error saying "/usr/local/kde/bin/dcopidlng - kde-config doesn't exist" but in that directory, kde-config does exist.

I'm not a developer by any means, I just want to compile and install :-) How do I fix this?

Thanks,
Phil.

have you thought about trying to compile with konstruct?

It is very straightforward

I only found out about Konstruct an hour ago, I'll try it when I get home from work. Is it always successful?

Konstruct

For my part I really like Konstruct, it is much easier than compiling from cvs. Make sure you read the installation instructions (particularly the bit about preconditions) before you start, though.

Thanks.... it just annoys me that building from the tars doesn't work, and falls over with such a dumb error.

I found the fix, from another thread - put the directory where kde-config is into your path.
