Problems with kde 3.4

First of i'd like to say that 3.4 is really nice and i've seen an overall boost in speed.
However I have several problems with it

1) I have a secondary panel at the bottom of my desktop (mac os style) and I likehaving the icons magnify when I mouse over, now when I do it I just get a rectangular bubble with the name of program which is fine. But I do want the icons to magnify, toggling the enable mouseover effects merely takes out the rectangular bubble.

2) I used to be able to have the bottom panel completly transparent when I enabled transparancy in the configure kde panel dialogue box. Now there is this gray background that I can't seem to get rid of.

3) Is there an inbuilt method in kde to switch xcomposite on and off? This isn't really a big deal since it seems bugg in the first place, just curious.

That has be removed for now, the respective code was really messy and the new maintainer decided to clean up.

Possibly somewhere in control centre (don't have 3.4 yet)

Thanks for the reply, hope they put the icon magnify back in soon. I've been through the control panel briefly but haven't seen the settings for xcomposite.

Control Panel->Desktop->Window Behavior->Translucency (Last Tab), Top checkbox is a enable/disable switch
