How to add truetype fonts?

I don't use the KDE desktop but I use a number of k-applications including kwrite, kword, etc. The only fonts I have available are a very small set of common fonts with a minimum size of 6 points. What I want to use is the set of truetype fonts I have available through fvwm95, my window manager of choice. How do I make these truetype fonts (/usr/ttfonts/*.ttf) available to the k-applications without actually USING KDE?

Thanks,
Bev

RE: How to add truetype fonts?

you can use the font subsystem in KDE. Fire up konqueror and type in "fonts:/" After that you can simply drag and drop your fonts in the apprioriate directory. If you want to do this systemwide use the KDE Control center.
