Konqueror & fonts in websites

I installed some packages to my system which required additional fonts and after installing them Koqueror has been displaying fonts "wrong". It has replaced original fonts with some ugly fonts and I dont know how to change these fonts. Konqueror fonts settings show same fonts it that were there before... only thing i don't understand: why have the fonts changed or how can I set them back to original if there are same settings that have always been there?

Konsole is now also displaying different font than before. The fonts usually start looking like this after I install Gnome. I'm using Gentoo.

I made some comparison between browsers:

Now I know the browsers use fonts defined in style sheets. I still don'y understand why fonts aren't displayed like in IE even if I have required fonts installed. I'd like to see those pages in Konqueror just like I see them in IE. In Linux those fonts are somehow bolder than they should be.

your right, although, i think it's mozilla. konqueror uses a simular engine that mozilla does(hey, you can use mozilla plugins in konqueror). why dont you just use opera? if the bold fonts annoy you then use opera.

Well, I use Opera, it's my default browser but lots of people have asked me about this font problem that happens to them too after installing some additional fonts and I've tried to read some font HOWTOs but I didnt find the answer from them. It's just strange that I can't get pages look same like in IE even when I have exactly same fonts installed.
