Need keyboard shortcuts or keypresses for console login(KDM)

I've managed to corrupt my display (messing around with TV-out and changed a wrong setting). Now my monitor is completely unreadable.
Can someone please give me the keypresses (or key shortcut) needed to do a console login through KDM (KDE 3.1)!!!
I know its an option in a drop down box, but i can't guess the right keypresses to select it.

Thanks, unstabl1

Thanks for the response, but it does not work. I can not switch out of the KDM login screen. I have also tried <ctrl-alt-bkspc> - does not get me out of X, and changing video res does not help either <ctrl-alt-+>.
I need to get out of x and to a text console.
I have no problems at boot as I can see all the boot info, but as soon as x is started, i just get giberish on my monitor. My nVidia logo doesn't even display properly.

Boot into single user mode

On the boot prompt type the name of the boot optoion for Linux (most likely something like linux) and as a second word single
It should look like this

LILO: linux single

Again, thanks for the reply, but I guess I should have also explained that my system goes straight to the KDM login screen, without me loging in at the termial after initial boot.
I need to log in to KDM without being able to use the mouse (I can't read or see anything on the screen), by selecting the terminal login choice.

No, if you boot into single user mode, it won't ever start kdm.

kdm is started in runlevel 2, single user mode is runlevel 1

Thanks for your assistance anda_skoa, but I figured out how to get into my system by booting off of an installation on an old drive.
The information I was looking for was:

At the KDM login screen...
1. Press <alt-m>
2. Cursor down once
3. press enter

As I stated in my earlier posts, I am unable to prevent my system from starting x as it is set up to start automatically at boot. I can not get to a text console unless I select the option of "console login" from KDM, therefore I can not change run levels or anything else for that matter.
If there is a way, please let me know as I am still learning the tricks of the trade with Linux...

What I suggested is before boot, at the prompt of the bootloader.
It doesn't matter what you have setup for normal boot, single will always boot without X, as it boots into runlevel 1, not runlevel 2.
