Apt-get with SuSE

I was just wondering...How many of you use apt-get with SusSE? Do you have any problems? Do you ever dist-upgraded the distribution (ex: 8.1->8.2)? Does YOU needs you to be registered?

I'm just having some problems and liked to know how is the thing going out there.

Thanks!

My personal answer is...

- no, I have never used apt-get.
- yes, I have upgraded 5.3 -> 6.2 -> 7.2 -> 7.3 -> 8.1.
- no, I was never registered.

Have a nice day!

Hi,

I use you4s for half a year now and it is pretty nice. I had no problems with installation and usage. (no dist upgrade for now)
You don't have to register before using fou4s.

To avoid any misunderstanding: I have updated by CD not by FTP.
(Now I start to understand the question.)

Have a nice day!

Just used apt-get on SuSE 9.0 to upgrade all KDE etc. No problems found, and you can search for far more detailed info than Yast gives.
I used the //linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm site. There is a link from there (forget the web address), the link is near the top of the page. It's long, but a detailed and good how-to.

Has Synaptic (GUI for apt4rpm) yet been released for SuSe 9.0? Somewhere on the SuSe-FTP I found the apt-get packages but no Synaptic :(
