KDE 3.1.4 for SuSE8.2

Hey out there,

does anybody know, where or when to get the binaries of KDE3.1.4 for SuSE8.2.

Well it looks like SuSE doesn't provide 3.1.4 packages yet and I didn't found another source.

Hi Chrisherr,

I have always installed and configured the lastest KDE on Suse with konstruct. I never used the packages before.

Try it out it's very easy to use.

SuSE has actually made the packages available, but not as an update through YasT...don't know why. I had to look around SuSE's FTP-server to find them, so here's the address:

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.2/

They worked great for me.

The reason SuSE never put them into Y.O.U. might be that there are no security relevant new features.

Or even more interesting: SuSE 9.0 ships with KDE 3.1.4 (not 3.2 CVS or something). Why else updating -- unless you have a AMD64...
Expect the worst, it's the least you can do.
