Is there a way to change the shadow text on the desktop in KDE 3.2rc1? It's mad ugly.

I too had that problem / point of irretation...

I searched and searched... and at last I found it..

Control Center -> Apparence & Themes -> Background -> Advanced Options -> Unselect "Enable shadow"... apply apply apply... and be happy... ;)

Now I only have to figure out how to make the programs in my Taskbar transparent along with the taskbar...

Oh thanks. That helped me too. I search this option since the release of RC1.

exactly

that's one problem KDE has to solve, IMHO. So many options .... As we say in Holland: because of all the trees you dont see the forrest anymore.

Gnome has to less options to choose from but KDE has to many. As alway the thruth will be in the middle....

just my 2cts

deech

btw i do like and use kde as my main DE. And i do admit it gets better and better al the time....

Better safe than sorry. I'm a KDE freak, but when I installed Suse 9 on my brothers computer I set him up with Gnome (mainly because Gnome is a tad bit more stable and since KDE 3.2 final is on it's way I didn't want to make things confusing). But I can honestly say that trying to pull simple things on Gnome, like getting a System Tray, is a chore. Of course this is nothing compared to Fluxbox where changing the wallpaper makes me want to reach my jaw aruond and eat my own head...
