Loosing Desktop Icons

After dragging and dropping the KPPP icon to the desktop from the Programs menu, connecting, and then launching Mozilla we are loosing all our desktop icons. Running KPPP from the program menu does not cause this behavior. Also only occurs as a user and not as root.
Using Red Hat 9 with KDE 3.1

Anyone seen something like this?

Thanks,

Darrell

Hi Darrell, I have not seen that problem before, but I also don't use Kppp. I use Kinternet instead. The good thing is that it can dock in your system tray, so no Icons is required if you don't want to. Also instead of copying the ICON to your desktop, have you tried to just create a link instead of copying?

Thanks for your suggestion. However, I can't seem to find Kinternet. Once I copy the icon or link to the desktop, connect and open a browser, the icons disappear. It also gives me an error when I close KPPP.
But, I can open KPPP from the programs menu and it works fine(the icons stay on the desktop and KPPP gives no error)

What do you think?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, just to let you know that this is a Suse rpm, but I had it working fine with RedHat in the past, just give it a shot it may work.
