SKY icons

I'm dave, author of SKY icons for KDE.
You can download the latest 0.6.8 version at

I'm promoting it here cause I wanna get most feedback, most suggestions, I need to know if you like it, hate it... :?:
The goal is to provide a complete icon-set, with all mime, actions, apps, devices etc. also if I know very well that most of KDE users are already happy with Crystal theme or Fusion theme.

Ok, I took a look at your icons and there are good, I do like them but I still believe they are lacking something. Sorry but I can't quite put my finger on what it is, maybe it's sleekness. Very nice icons though, except for one, I hate the penguin, I think you could do a better job on it. There is the feedback you wanted. Oh and if you want a suggestion don't just make the standard icons set, make other apps icons too. Even some diffrent ones for diffrent distros!

ho visto le tue icone ! (I've seen your icons)
They are beautiful in general but there are two thing i don't like so much :roll: :

1 - the folder look ; it's too plate for me , maybe something which gives more the idea of deepness (insomma un pò più 3D)

2 - the home icon is nice, but not totally convincing.

For the rest they look very nice, colors and design both.

My feedback

I like 1-2-3-4-32 but 62 is really weird. That penguin has a disturbing look to it.

You don't have to look only the screenshots, the icons are a lot more, try install the full set and then tell me what do you think.

So, I just installed it and I have to say that they look really good.
I must also agree that the penguin has something "disturbing", pherhabs it's this "huh?" look of his eyes? The Icons don't look..well...refreshing. You could make the Folder-Icons a lillte bit more 3D, and so the other Icons, too. The Mozilla-Icon looks really flat, and I think you should make a Icon for the Control Center.
Conclusion: Try to make them look a little bit "fresher". But they are very good by now. I'll use them for a while and then I'll check back =)

opinion

in general, i very much like those icons! they are very clean and minimalistic, and some sort of opposite of other themes like Slick (and others), which is nice.. we need both!!!

and I don't really dislike the penguin *g* sorry guys ;)

Me neither. I don't really have any problems with the penguin. The rest of the icons look nice too. A more 3D look wouldn't hurt either though.

the new set with the old way of making folders (3D folders) would be really great.

i made a couple of M$ mime extension icons for crystal, but i have been told they fit very nicely with Sky, as well.

Those look pretty nice. They should look great with most icon sets.

Just uploaded new version of SKY icons.
There are new mimetypes, most used actions, including emailing related actions, new kmenu (but the penguing still available as kmenu2.png), desktop icon, konsole icon etc.

New MIME style, large and consistent - 77 mime icons.
Removed all shadows from 16px icons.
New magnify actions icons.

just follow the link, install and fly in the SKY (hihihi).
