taskbar customising

I run KDE3, and would like to know if it is possible to lauch an application, but skipping the taskbar (so it does not show), and it is present aon all desktops.

I have heard about launching it as

prorgam --skip taskbar --all desktops

but it doesnt work...

I have been wondering the exact same thing! I always have a terminal open on one desktop and always have kopete open on another and so on.

I don't ever move these and would love if they didnt clutter my taskbar

Problem...

Hey all, ive been interested in this thread as I like to have programs that I typically never use, but always have running out of the taskbar. So when I start GAIM in the above way, the problem is GAIM creatas other windows that I wouldnt like to have in the taskbar, like the buddy list.

Is there a way to give the kicker taskbar applet perhaps a list of regexps that when matched, will cause a program to not be included in the list. IE: I could say ^Gaim.*, and ALL gaim windows will not be included.
