Customizing sounds in Kopete

Hi

I'm sort of new to Kopete, to which I migrated from Gaim.
(I decided to try running a KDE-only desktop)

But I seem be be lacking one simple option, which is provided by Gaim:
Play a sound when a retrieved message initiates a new chat.
This is helpful, when im not sitting in front of my computer.
On the other hand, the "play sound on incoming message" gets pritty annoying, when chatting!

Ok... my question: Will this feature be implemented?, and in case of yes, then ; when?

I assume you're running atleast KDE 3.2 since you haven't mentioned the version.

Here's what you do :

Start the KDE Control Center
Go to Sound & Multimedia, then System Notifications.
For Event Source, select "Kopete"
Select the event you want (Ex: "Incoming Message Arrives") and assign the type of notification that you want (Ex: Play A sound)

[Kopete] KNotify is missing "New Chat Initiated"

Hi all,

And sorry for posting in this old thread but I'm having the same problem (also with KDE 3.2) and it wasn't resolved by the answer in the thread:

- I like to be warned by a sound when someone initiates a new chat (as already said, in case I'm not in front of my computer)
- I find annoying to have a sound on each incoming message

In KNotofy, I can only find the event "Incoming Message Arrives", there is no "New Chat Initiated".

Is this feature implemented in a newer version of Kopete?

Thanks

Sorry to revive an old thread, but i would like to accomplish the same thing.

Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks,
Ravi
