Konqueror: Multiple panes in a tab

I opened konqueror in my home directory, then opened a google search by typing it into the location bar. And konqueror opened a new pane for google, in the same tab alongside my home directory view. The two panes are seperately scrollable and have a splitter between them. Normally, the new url replaces the old one.

Is this a bug or a feature? I like it, but don't know how I did it. When I try the same again, the new location replaces the last.

Images at http://www.snakegully.nu/konqpaness.png and http://www.snakegully.nu/konqpanes.png if my description isn't very clear.

Hehe, I think I know what happened. Neither a feature nor a bug, just a typo.

I guess you normally use the Ctrl-L shortcut to access the location bar in konqueror. Now, try Ctrl-Shift-L instead ;-)

You can split the window horizontally (Ctrl-T), vertically (Ctrl-L) and, last but not least, you can remove those panes again (Ctrl-R, this removes the one that is active).

The same functionality is available as buttons in the extra toolbar (that is disabled by default) or in the window menu.

Excellent!

Great. Actually, originally I just clicked in the location bar, typed my search, and hit enter. But I must have somehow hit a control key. And what do I find when I look at the Window menu? I didn't actually look there before!

Thanks.
