How to Uninstall Kopete ?

Hi folks,

I downloaded and installed "Kopete 0.9.0 for KDE 3.2", however, it doesn't seems to connect on to MSN. So I decided to uninstall it, but I couldn't find an uninstall file (say "make uninstall").

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the help,
James

kopete 0.9.0 connects to msn without a problem. try removing the ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete folder, and reconfiguring everything.

You may need to configure a proxy outside kopete (in the control center).

Thank you for the replies, I really appreciate it.
I reinstalled Debian Sarge nightly build (Sept 12th 2004) and everything works out properly now.

One more question, the system automatically boots into XWindow after I installed the nightly build I have, and I just don't know where to disable such a feature. Would you please give me a hand... again ?!

I don't know if Debian has a tool to maintain this setting (like dpgk --reconfigure package_xxx) but the so-called default runlevel can be set manually in /etc/inittab :

Copied from that file on my Debian test box:
# The default runlevel.
id:5:initdefault:

I guess your setting is 5, as it is on my box. This means graphical multi-user mode. Try changing this to 3. That should be non-graphical multi-user mode which probably is what you want.

remove xdm (or kdm, gdm) from /etc/init.d/rc5.d/

remember to remove both the startup (S##xdm) and the kill (K##xdm) files from the folder.

Dont worry about deleting them, they are just symbolic links to /etc/init.d/, and you can put them back whenever you like!
