Kopete will not set up Jabber account

I'm feeling quite stupid about this but I didn't see anything on the net regarding this problem. I have just upgraded to KDE 3.2 on my RedHat 9.0 laptop with 2.4.23 kernel. I thought I would give kopete a whirl for my Jabber account at work.

I choose to add a new account, the account wizard pops up nicely, I choose Jabber and Kopete replies "Impossible to load protocol 'Jabber'". The help buttons do not work so that is not help.

What foolish thing is this complete Kopete newbie doing wrong? Thanks - John

Have you tried any of the other protocols just to verify if the plugins are there at all. If the same message pops up for other protocols then you either need to run kbuiodsycoca to update your plugins database, or you need to reinstall because the plugins didnt make their way to the proper place.

I was able to successfully set up my Yahoo account. By the way, what is kbuiodsyscoca? I didn't see that anywhere on my system. Thanks - John
