MSN not connecting to correct server

I am using Kopete 0.7.94 (from the Mandrake Cooker), and attempting to connect to MSN it says:
Could not connect to host login.passport.com

Gaim 0.74 is using messenger.hotmail.com on port 1863

How can i make Kopete use that server?

35 views and no answer... maybe i just missed something. I noticed some other things messed up with my cooker install (missing packages and such), so i could just be something messed up here.

It just means that the 35 viewers have no idea. Sorry! :(

MESSENGER

Well im not quite sure what your trying to acomplish but if your trying to use that program to connect to messanger you may have more sucess using amsn. Microsoft implimented the msn 9 protocal and now anything not using it will not connect. when you use amsn for the first time you can download somthing that will allow you to get on the msn 9 network

here is the web page to the program

Actually, I reinstalled the Mandrake Cooker, and it is working fine now. I think it had something to do with some packages not installed correctly. It works perfectly fine now, and also, GAIM works fine, and that was what I was using while I tried to get Kopete to work.

I like the integration of Kopete with KDE, since it is, well, a KDE program. Since it is working, I'm going to be using it!

Kopete

Yea I remeber that program I liked it to except for the fact that it did not post the messsage when you hit enter (I hate hitting send with the mouse). Do you know of a way to change the prefrences or anything to make it do this or do you still have to hit send?

In kopete go to Settings: Configure Shortcuts and change the send message one to return or enter.

I don't mind the ctrl-enter. It lets me easily have multiple lines in the message. Kinda similar to the ICQ, and I like it better than needing to use Shift-Enter for a new line!

However, it CAN be set to whatever your heart desires, which is good!
